After brexit buying houses in Torrevieja will take at least 4-6 months.

 After Brexit, the procedure to buy houses in Torrevieja, Orihuela Costa and Other areas of Alicante will be more "cumbersome" than before.

The consecuences of Brexit are getting worse   if people from the UK  want to buy a house in Torrevieja, Orihuela, Pilar de la Horadada and San Miguel de Salinas among other will  need a special permission from Department of Defense.

From now on the British will be subject to the same spanish regulations that had been applied to nationals of a non-member state of the European Union since 1978


According to Spanish regulations , areas such as Torrevieja, Orihuela, Pilar de la Horadada and San Miguel de Salinas, , are considered restricted access and therefore subject to a control procedure that consists in:

"Request military authorization by means of an instance directed to the defense ministry and prior to the granting or registration of the deed among others.

The buyer must provide certificates, which in some cases require a lot of bureaucracy, and the procedure can takes 4-6 months for the corresponding department of the Ministry of Defence to give its approval.
